Yesterday I took a self enforced day out….I mean off
really. It was Boxing Day and I had the
opportunity to be on my own and I took it.
I actually ended up doing some sleeping! So obviously needed a bit of recuperation in preparation for the “busy” year ahead. I’d taken Judith’s advice and bought Jenny Ditzler’s “Your Best Year Yet” and worked my way through the book and the workshop in not much more than 4 hours. When I’d finished I had a plan, guidelines and focus for the year as well as my top 10 (Ok I allowed myself 13) goals for 2007. I have to say I found aspects of the programme difficult and not totally in alignment with where I am right now, but I liked the discipline of sitting down and focusing on next year, thinking about the achievements and activities of last year and coming out with a very clear and definite plan. I also like the sense of achievement from having finished the programme. So I will refine those goals down to around….7 I think. Mainly; Financial, Spiritual, Physical, Kids, Business, Friends, Love and Fun…..ok that’s 8. It’s a great exercise to do at the end of the year. I do this goal setting in various guises these days and “Your Best Year Yet” can be a good one to try. I adapted to what worked best for me and it makes a great guideline for thinking about what you have, what you’ve done, what you want and what you want to achieve, why not try it. Guess what!? The next morning I jumped up wide awake at
7am
! Excited and enthused by the coming year….I had…I have a plan! I’ve just written my best year yet! And I’d say that 2006 was my best year yet.. and I said that in 2005! Now I know 2007 is going to be even better…I just created it! Actually 2007 is a very good year for a lot of people, something to do with the numbers apparently, but I can just feel it. 2007 ….here we come!
